The student flats will combine communal living with the need for individual privacy. Units will comprise six or seven bedrooms - all with en-suite facilities - which share common cooking and social areas.

Each bedroom will incorporate modern hotel facilities, with a bed, study area and self-contained shower and wc. Each room has its own individually controlled heating. Kitchens will be fully equipped with modern cooking facilities and will also provide an area for socialising.

There is provision for two disabled units per floor and some larger rooms suitable for wardens and post-graduate research students. There will also be eight double rooms.

Care will be taken to ensure that the features of a grade II listed building are retained and incorporated with state of the art sanitary and telecommunication provisions.
